Back to reality

After a extended getaway for the past month I am finally back to the reality and refocus on work.. seriously people, pls don't mock me on taking too much time off from work anymore. I have never taken vacation longer than 2 weeks in my entire working career, not even in between jobs from US to HK. My bosses never complained about my extended time off and they trusted me being able to handle work efficiently and fulfill my responsibility even when I am away from my desk. I think I deserve some time to recharge my battery before draining my brain juice again..

Guys always talk about girls being lucky to be able to have options in their lives... we can choose to retire early in marriages and be a full time mom. I do agree that we have the luxury to stay home if the family is sustainable with single income, and most women are not mentally adaptable in a harsh working environment. I wouldn't argue about the mental issue, yet I figured that it is women nature that we are not physically fit enough to work like a guy.... From all the traveling from east to west and back to east and then to west again, I demanded sleep more than anytime in my life, my fatigue breaks down my limbs I need to rest whenever I see a seat, I cannot adjust my jetlag as easily as before. I like aging in a sense of maturity, yet I hate aging in a sense of deteriorating physical condition.

I missed our museum hopping in Vienna. I missed all the paintings and luxury of spending 30min admiring a single piece of art and making an emotional connection with it. I missed the time and effort reading and understanding and sinking into the history of art. Even though an entrance fee to a single gallery costs more than the massive Louvre I do prefer to pay more for the tranquility and distance away from crazy tourists.

I do agree that Klimt's Kiss is undeniable the best work that he has done.. I love Judith more than the Kiss, not because of any sort of feminism, I was particularly drawn to her drop dead gorgeous face. It is an irony to paint such a seductive flame after a cruel murder. She is soo pretty.
